General supply list for all Wen Redmond classes
- Any WASHED or PFD (prepared for dying) Fabric- natural fibers as cotton, rayon, linen, cheesecloth, silk and wool. Mercerized cotton will have a more reflective and radiant end product. Solid light colored fabrics work the best but you can also over paint your boring, old fabric stash. Pre cut your cloth into pieces of any size, but less than 20x30. Label with your name
- Scissors
- Latex gloves to protect your hands.
- Goggles/glasses for eye protection- hardware in paint section
- Small yogurt containers to rinse brushes, hold water
- Brushes- all kinds and sizes, i.e., foam, bristle sponge, cosmetic; - it’s nice to have a general supply- do not spend a lot on this, whatever you have. Check under each class for specifics. I use a lot of smaller 1&2” bristle.
- Permanent marker to label samples for future reference.
- Write your name on supplies you want to keep
- Apron or wear clothes you don’t care about
- Paper towels, plastic spoons
- spray bottle
- Anything you use should not be used for food again.
Painting Fabrics Supply List
- 2-3 20x30 foam boards,
- kitchen bags and larger plastic bags to carry home wet projects-( you layer foam boards and insert into large garbage bag to carry home)
- white and/or lighter colored natural fabrics that are washed. Please have these torn or cut into size samples- 20x30-or smaller. The idea is to learn the techniques and generate samples. Label them with your name with a permanent marker.
